PRIMA FACIE REPORT ON THE FINDINGS DURING THE EXAMINATION OF TWO
PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE DECEASED (MS. DISHA SATISH SALIAN) AND THEIR
CORRABORATION WITH POST MORTEM REPORT OF MS. DISHA SATISH SALIAN (NAME AS
MENTIONED ON THE POST MORTEM REPORT)
Report No: 030425/70 Dated: 03/04/25.
The material/secondary evidences (digitally sent photographs of the deceased and the copy of PM report)
pertaining to Ms. Disha Satish Salian were provided to me by Mr. Satish Salian on 03.04.2025 for prima facie
examination of the photographs of the deceased and the post-mortem report (Corroboration of Injuries and
Findings written in the PM report) in this case, have been carefully and thoroughly examined.

Statement and Competency of the Forensic Expert: It is for the kind reference of the Hon’ble Court and
Respected Authorities that I, Dr. Bhoopesh Kumar Sharma is a Professor of Forensic Science and had been in
the same profession (Teaching and Research in Forensic Science) for approximately 19+ years. I have been
teaching the subjects like Questioned Document Examination, Handwriting & Signature Analysis, Forensic
Photography, Crime Scene Investigation, Proactive Forensics, Forensic Fingerprinting, Forensic Medicine, and
Ballistics etc. to UG and PG students, and have published several research articles of Forensic Science nationally
and internationally in various reputed peer-reviewed journals. Beside this, I am also practicing as a Forensic
Expert for Indian and Foreign Courts of Law. I have given my expert opinion in numerous cases of forgery,
fraud, theft, fingerprint examination, fraudulent document examination, signature examination, handwriting
examination, and many others in Hon’ble Court of Law since 2006. I have been summoned as an expert witness
in several cases by Indian and Foreign Court of Law.
In this particular case, though I am not a medical officer who has conducted the post mortem, nor I am
entitled to do so, however, as a Professor of Forensic Science and as a Forensic Expert and Consultant, I
considers myself competent to provide prima facie opinion for findings written in the post mortem report
and their corroboration with the deceased photograph (visible parts).
It is to be noticed that this opinion is based on secondary evidences (photographs and copy of post mortem report)
only. Further examination is required to confirm findings with the primary evidences and on the basis of the
evidences lying with the I.O/Police Officers/Invetigating Agencies/Medical Examiners/ etc.
Subject: – The Expert Opinion regarding the Forensic findings in given secondary evidences evidences
(photographs and copy of post mortem report) to identify corroboration between the two.

Forensic Finding in The Post-Mortem Report, those need further investigation and
clarification of the doubts from Medical Examiner of the above case:

1. Nude Body: It is clearly mentioned in the PM report at point no. 7, that the body was found and/or received
in “Nude” condition i.e. without any clothing. As a forensic expert in my opinion it could be because of
either the person has allegedly committed suicide (so called) in the same condition (without clothing), or
the person might have been sexually abused (if confirmed/remain un-confirmed during medical
examination) and then thrown outside, Staged Suicide, Bathroom Accidents, mental distress or mental
health disorders (if any evidence or past history of any psychotic episodes present), or due to threatened
or forced fall.
In such conditions, findings/investigation of the clothing are very much required to rule out any
suspicious activity. Clothings are always an important evidence to be analysed with their location,
type, and condition in which they were encountered.
In present case it is suspicious that under what circumstances an individual will fall without any
clothing.

2. Point No. 13 of PM Report is about Features- Whether natural or swollen, State of Eyes, Position
of Tongue, Nature of fluid (if any)oozing from mouth, nostrils or ears:
a. The findings as per PM report: Injured, eye, mouth semi closed
Forensic Opinion: This point is about the external examination of facial features and as stated in the
PM report that face was found to be injured, whereas, no such external injury is evident in any of the
pictures of the deceased provided and mentioned above by me. There must be clear signs of injuries
on the pictures as mentioned in the report. Also, the PM report mentions “injured” in more generalized
manner rather than providing specific details of type and position/location of injury on face. This type
of contradiction in the photograph with PM report raises a concern that needed to be further clarified
or investigated.
b. The findings as per PM report “Teeth seen Fallen (frontal)”
Forensic Opinion: Despite the claim of broken frontal teeth, there are no visible external injuries as
evident in the provided photographs. It is highly unlikely from a scientific and forensic standpoint that
a person falling from the 13th – 14th floor would have only broken frontal teeth without any
recognizable injury, bleeding, or trauma on the face as evident from the provided photographs . Here’s
why:

8
1. Impact Force and Injury Distribution
•A fall from such a height generates massive impact force, usually leading to severe injuries to multiple
body parts.
•The face is highly vascularized, meaning even minor trauma (like a broken tooth) would typically cause
bleeding, abrasions, or fractures.

2. Frontal Tooth Injury Without Facial Trauma?
•If the frontal tooth (incisor) breaks, there must be a direct impact on the mouth or jaw.
•This would normally result in soft tissue damage (cuts, bruising, or swelling on the lips, gums, or inside
the mouth).
•The absence of any external facial injury (as evident from provided photographs) suggests that there was
no direct facial impact, making it hard to explain how only the tooth broke.

3. Possibility of Post-Mortem Manipulation
•If the teeth is broken without any facial injury, forensic experts would consider the possibility that the
teeth damage occurred separately from the fall—perhaps post-mortem or due to another event.

Therefore, It is scientifically implausible that only frontal teeth would break while the entire face remains
uninjured (as per pictures provided) and clear after falling from the 13th – 14th floor. This scenario would
likely require further forensic investigation to determine if the injury occurred before or after the fall.
Also, there must be a clear mention of specific tooth (or teeth) those have been fallen off like incisors or
canines etc. Also, lips are not injured (abraded or bruised) after this great impact on the frontal teeth due
to fall.

Final Conclusion: Based on a comprehensive assessment of the observations and findings from the
examination of the provided photographs and the copy of post-mortem report of Ms. Disha Satish Salian,
it is noted that, prima facie, the circumstances do not align with a death caused by a fall from the 14th
floor. Additionally, discrepancies between the post-mortem report and the photographs of the deceased
further raise serious concerns. Given these inconsistencies, a thorough re-investigation by the police or
relevant authorities, with the assistance of qualified forensic experts, is imperative to uncover the truth.

*Note: No other forensic findings/opinion can be provided on the basis the provided photographs as no other external
injuries/external body part/internal examination photographs are provided or no other area is visible in the
photographs. This report is a corroborative report of the photographs provided and the findings mentioned in PM
report.
